Catholics and Mother MaryCatholics believe that Mary was the immaculately-conceived virgin Mother of Jesus Christ our God. Though she was only human, she lived a life in perfect obedience to the Father and without sin and was ultimately assumed into heaven both body and soul where she reigns as the Queen of Heaven and Earth. Because of her holiness and in accordance with scripture and tradition, she is venerated (not worshipped) and often sought for her intercession to her son Jesus Christ. Many devotions are done through her including the rosary, scapular, and Marian consecrations.

Consider Consecrating Yourself to Jesus through Mary
Marian consecration is the "surest, easiest, shortest, and most perfect means" to become a saint. When we consecrate ourselves to Mary, we give her our entire lives and selves as well as the merits of all our prayers and works in order to belong more fully to Our Lord. We give Mary everything we are and do to present to the Lord and use at her disposal.
